Happiness is a choice

May kuwento ako...

There's a girl whoooooo's slightly!!! in love with his friend.

Yeah, they're FRIENDS. They have no relationship except for, FRIENDS.

They've been hanging around, drinking together before or till wee hours. They talk, they chat when they can. Sometimes they compliment each other, but most of the times, they fight. Para silang aso't pusa, laging may tampuhan, pero mamaya ok na ulet. Masaya silang magkasama. I suppose, they enjoy each others company.

Yes, they're FRIENDS, well, at least for the guy.

Kase 'yong girl, hinde lang FRIEND ang turing kay guy, she likes him...

Kung sana madali lang ang sitwasyon...kaso hinde na e.

The guy...is already taken. YEAH! He's, haaayyy...taken.

Kaya hinde puwedeng bigyan ni girl ng kulay ang lahat ng ginagawa nilang dalawa kase nga everything is just a friendly gesture. Because if she will, she'll end up hurting.

BUT! Unfortunately, she did...yes, she fell...she fell in to the pit of uncertainty.

And that's when pain and happiness felt GOOD together.

Pero lahat ng 'yon, si girl lang ang nakakaramdam, siya lang ang may pasan.

Kasalanan niya ba? Kasalanan ba ng guy? Naging masama ba ang lalakeng 'yon? At naging masama din ba ang babaeng 'yon?

Naging masama ba ang mag-fall siya sa isang kaibigan? Sa kaibigang hinde niya dapat minahal?

Isang araw, nagpatulong ang guy kay girl maghanap ng gift para sa kanyang special someone for Christmas.

She felt her heart stopped, that moment numbed her. But she snapped back in time.

"Baket ako pa!?"

Ang daming usapan, andaming tanong, andaming discussions. In the end of it all...wala siyang nagawa, nakalimutan niya, magkaibigan nga pala sila at kailangan siya ng kaibigan niya, kaya sasama siya.

"Sasama ka. You're his friend diba?! So go! Smile!"

Sabi nila, puwede naman siyang tumanggi e, puwede naman sabihing ayaw niya. Pero baket siya om-oo. Baket andon pa rin sya, kasama niyang tumingen ng regalo.

"Kase gusto ko siyang makasama."

Lumipas ang gabi, magkasama sila, masaya, nagkukuwentuhan, nagtatawanan.

Sa gitna ng usapan, nasabi ng girl na nalulungkot siya.

Then the guy told her, "Bibigyan kita ng kausap."

"Huh?",the girl asked.

"Para maging masaya ka na rin,

...may ipapakilala ako sa'yo,"

The clamorous night felt silent, parang nabinge ang babae sa narinig niya. The warm words sounded so cold, they were like frozen daggers cutting her heart in to pieces. Speechless, anxious, she just lit her cigarette and breathe...she doesn't even know where to pull it from. But she breathe.

"Gusto mo akong sumaya?"

"Alam mo ba na ito, ngayon, magkasama tayo, masaya na ako.

Masaya na 'ko kahit ganito lang."

The guy felt sorry, but it was already spoken. The girl was hurt, but she still smiled at him.

"Ok lang."

Then the night ended with them exchanging goodbyes.

Maybe the guy's right, the girl has the right to have her own happiness, happiness na hinde naka-depende kung kelan lang sila puwedeng magkita at magkasama, happiness na may kasiguraduhan.

But HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE.

Maybe she chose that way kase she's happy. Kahit pa happiness 'yon na may limit, may expiration date, happiness na walang branding, happiness na hinde niya matatawag na buo. Kahit pa ito ay Happiness na MALI. Ang mahalaga, masaya siya.

Maybe a day will come, she'll no longer be satisfied with that kind of happiness, she'll choose right from wrong. She'll be happy...in the most righteous way.
